Liz Lambert is a partner at Riess LeMieux and has been with the firm since its formation in 2018.
Liz began her legal career at the Jefferson Parish Attorney's Office, serving as a Senior Assistant Parish Attorney, where she developed her experience in public procurement and the Louisiana Public Bid Law. She has built her practice around that work since entering private practice. She advises on the solicitation and award of public contracts, and she represents contractors in bid protests, alternative procurement and delivery methods, and mandamus proceedings arising out of public projects.
Liz drafts and negotiates construction and related contracts for owners, contractors, and developers on public and private projects. Liz regularly counsels construction clients on insurance related matters, including the rights and obligations of the parties under applicable policies, such as commercial general liability, builder's risk, and OCIP and CCIP wrap-up programs, and has represented clients in disputes over coverage, liability, and surety bonds.
Liz also represents contractors, owners, developers, subcontractors, insurers, and self-insureds in construction disputes. Her litigation practice spans commercial buildings, highways, bridges, and residential, and includes contractual breaches, payment disputes, delay damages, and construction defects such as moisture intrusion, roof damage, structural defects, New Home Warranty Act, and construction vibration damage. She also handles personal injury and complex property damage claims arising out of construction and premises operations.
Liz counsels employers on workforce issues, most often contractors and others in the construction industry, and she represents employers outside the industry as well. She advises on hiring, discipline, terminations, and separations, drafts and reviews employee handbooks and personnel policies, prepares severance agreements and non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements, and counsels clients on drug testing, background checks, and accommodation and leave obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and related state and federal leave laws.
Liz has been recognized by Chambers and Partners as an Up and Coming individual in Construction, Louisiana, for four consecutive years, 2023 through 2026. She has also been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation and Construction Law since 2025.
