For over 40 years, Lou Fey has provided claims management for large insurance carriers and brokerage firms. Lou graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in management and economics. Lou also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), and Associated in Claims (AIC) designations.
Lou has been deemed qualified to testify in both state and federal courts as an insurance expert based upon Daubert. Prior to forming Fey Consulting LLC, Lou served as Travelers Construction Division’s Director of Major Case Claims for the S.E. United States and helped to set up that Division when it was initially split off from Travelers Commercial Lines. In 2007 Lou formed Fey Consulting LLC, leveraging his experience to provide expert testimony in litigated matters. Lou also serves as Vice President of BXS Insurance Services where he acts as an advocate on disputed claims.
Fey currently serves as Chairman of the State of Louisiana Property and Casualty Commission, serves on the Agent’s Advisory Council to the State of Louisiana’s Insurance Commissioner, and is co-chairman of the Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) of Louisiana’s Governmental Affairs Committee, who previously named him its Insurance Agent of the Year. Lou has spearheaded numerous legislative initiatives aimed at bettering the State’s legal environment from an insurance perspective, and regularly lectures on insurance-related topics.
