The Art of Negotiations

Mr. Javier is a native of Miami, Florida but has made New Orleans his home since 1995. Mr. Javier earned his undergraduate degree, majoring in business administration with a minor in psychology, from Emory University in 1993. While at Emory, Mr. Javier was an active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Mr. Javier attended Loyola University Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned many distinctions. He was a Moot Court board member, Moot Court semifinalist, a Moot Court teaching assistant and was also the first, second year law student ever selected to coach one of Loyola's national teams. He was a member of the St. Thomas More Inns of Court and has also had articles published in law journals.

Mr. Javier is currently recognized by A.M. Best in its Best's Directories of Recommended Insurance Attorneys. He also received the highest "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbell and has been invited for inclusion in the prestigious Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Javier has motion, trial, and appellate practice and experience in both state and federal courts, and as lead counsel, he has successfully tried, settled, and mediated cases, several of which have had multi-million dollar exposures, throughout Louisiana and even in federal court in Mississippi. He represents many corporations (several of which are Fortune 500 companies), insurance companies, and self-insured entities and he frequently provides in-house seminars to his clients in his areas of practice. He is a state expert consultant for a national media publication which provides its subscribers with current jurisprudential updates. He is also national counsel to a Fortune 500 corporation regarding Medicare related issues in general liability cases.

In 2018, Mr. Javier became a qualified mediator with the prestigious mediation group, MAPS (Mediation and Arbitration Professional Systems). He has successfully resolved approximately 85% of his mediations. Mr. Javier was also accepted into, and has completed, advanced mediation training at the prestigious Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His “tenacious” approach to mediation has made him an often sought after mediator, especially in difficult cases or where an initial mediation failed.

Mr. Javier is barred in both Louisiana and Texas jurisdictions. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel.
